NEXUS FINANCIALS Stock Control module enables the implementation of sophisticated pricing and item tracking systems, managing the inventory needs by tracking quantities, costs and prices. It records item receipts, disbursements and transfers, handling an unlimited number of inventory items. Flexible and comprehensive NEXUS FINANCIALS Stock Control module provides the following features:
- Stock can be held as quantity items, individual units or non-diminishing (non-stock) items.
- Items (quantity & unit items) can be defined as an assembly/bill of material. Assemblies can contain up to 1000 components comprising unit items, quantity items and other assemblies. Assemblies can be constructed utilizing 10 levels of sub-assembly, each with its corresponding bill of materials.
- Each stock item can have up to 15 selling prices, e.g. wholesale, retail, dealer, etc.
- Unit items are tracked by serial number and hold the actual cost of the item, its status (available, sold, damaged etc.), location and whom it was sold to and when.
- Unit items can also have unlimited, free-form comments, to record details for manufacture, reasons for stock returns and why units are on hold, etc.
- The system caters for up to 99 warehouses per branch. Inter-branch transfers can be made at cost or at a user selected mark-up. Enquiries and reports can show stock availability at other warehouses and stock transfer requests are automatically produced.
- Stock can be valued at Average, Standard, FIFO (first-in first-out) cost and Actual cost for batched items. The last actual cost and last tendered cost are also held.
- Cash receipts are available at invoice time.
- Customers and stock items can be automatically created at invoice time.
- Invoices/Credit notes can be created for multiple warehouses and stock can be sold from warehouses other than the customer's warehouse.
- Multiple suppliers allowed for each stock code. Full alternate supplier information kept.
- Existing stock items may be copied from one warehouse to another and a quick entry facility exists for similar coded stock codes.
- On-line quotation facility with option to create invoices.
- Serial numbers can be assigned at invoice time or when stock is initially received/manufactured.
- Assemblies can be built and exploded at invoice time.
- Stock transfers between branches can automatically create a customer's invoice in the sending branch and a supplier's invoice in the receiving branch if required.
- Credit notes can be entered for unit items whose serial number was not previously sold (i.e. trade-ins).
- Purchase order enquiry for a stock item available in master file maintenance.
- Ability to reprint invoices after end of day.
- Stock is fully integrated to Accounts Receivable, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, and Job Costing.
- Credit notes can optionally not return goods in stock. (e.g. damaged goods)
- Comprehensive Cost Audit Report.
- Stock items can be linked to individual Customers.

- Sophisticated Special Pricing Matrix allowing multiple forms of discounting by warehouse, stock item, product group, product group category, customer and customer category or any combination together with quantity and dollar bulk discounts.
- Consignment note generation and packing labels.
- Sophisticated price maintenance options including mark-ups, margins and date effective updates.
- The reordering of stock may be automated.
- Budgets for product groups and stock items.
- Stock items can be stored in one measurement unit and sold in another, using a conversion factor to determine quantities.
- Inter-warehouse transfers allow transfer overheads to be allocated to the stock in the receiving warehouse by weight, value or equally. Journals are automatically created to in-transit accounts to adjust for stock in transit.
- Supplier invoices containing stock items will impact the Stock Control module appropriately.
- Comments may be entered for all stock types, including batched items.
- Two-dimensional batch facilities, including the creation and re-ordering of two-dimensional batches, (e.g. size & color).
- Assemblies can be duplicated and a standard build quantity for assemblies may be entered.
- Previous prices for a customer/stock code combination can be viewed when entering transactions.
- Full sales histories can be kept indefinitely.
- Full drill back facility available; all the General Ledger transactions originating in the Stock module can be enquired upon.
Four different types of stock batch tracking are available:
- 1. Manual batching - for stock that is to be manually allocated by the operator.
- 2. First stock received batching - for first-in first-out stock allocation.
- 3. Expiry date batching - stock closest to use by date is sold first.
- 4. Manual batching from permanent batches - stock is held in fixed batches (i.e. size 10, 12, 14 etc of stock item ABC are all stored as separate batches) from which stock is subsequently sold.
- An unlimited number of locations can be established within each warehouse. Stock can optionally be received into and sold from multiple locations. Stock can also be transferred between locations.
- Stock 'freeze' facility at stock take time.
- Any module which integrates to Stock Control with the batch tracking and/or the multi-location feature, fully maintains this information i.e. batch tracking and multi-location permeates throughout the system if it is installed.
- Stock type can be changed.
- Negative stock quantity levels are allowed at user discretion.
- A slow moving stock provision report is available.
- Average cost adjustment facility.
