NEXUS FINANCIALS General Ledger Report Writer (GLRW) provides for an unlimited number of stored reports. GLRW can report from all fields on the General Ledger master file as well as derived fields and it provides for a fully flexible reporting structure with up to 26 columns printed per report line and an unlimited number of lines per report. Other key features include:
- Stored reports can be used as templates for new reports.
- Reports can be specified for one branch and printed for another.
- The header section of a report is completely user-definable including page number, date and time.
- Apart from the report heading, the report specification can be input from one entry screen.
- Column attributes include column name (and whether this should be centered, left justified, right justified or not formatted and whether it should be underlined), starting position, width, numeric or text and up to 10 formatting options per column. The formatting options per column include rounding from dollars to millions of dollars, whether DR. or CR. should print with leading -, trailing -, brackets or trailing DR. or CR. and whether the number should print with or without punctuation.
- Report detail lines may be renumbered.

- Accounts can be selected for reports based on wildcard searches.
- The report structure can be seen on the input screen at entry time.
- Each report can have up to 30 columns specified. Columns can overlap, i.e. have multiple definitions.
- GLRW allows for up to 99 accumulators that can each be named for easy reference. Accumulators can be cleared for re-use.
- There are up to 80 user-defined variables that are calculated from any previously defined variables or master file fields. Allowable operators are plus, minus, divide and multiply.
- One line as defined on the input screen, can generate multiple output lines, e.g. a line for a range of accounts can generate one output line for each account.
- Account ranges can be summarized in one line.
- Lines can be suppressed and their results used in calculation in subsequent lines.
- Lines can print percentage figures of totals which appear later in the report.
- Lines can be conditionally ignored, e.g. if year to date total is zero, if net profit is negative or bank account is in credit.
- User variables can be prompted for.
- Report specifications, including heading, column and line details, may be produced in hard copy format.
